here are some great photos of my part of Spenard on the internet. So now all 3 of my out of state readers can visualize it when I say I am going to eat at Yak and Yeti or Pho Lena, or fill my growlers at the Bear Tooth and go hunting for a doodad at the Second Chance.
Work proceeds on the insulating/residing of the ecoplex – but not today because it is so monsoon-like out that I have become a bike-commuting walking puddle. I am very thankful to have two competent and wonderful friends working on this. I am much less involved with the project than I thought I would ever be, and therefor so much more relaxed and calm about it. Even the inelegant interior of my apartment isn’t bothering me – I sat on my couch two nights ago perfectly content in my surroundings as the evening sunlight (so rare this summer) streamed through the west window. Blasphemy, I know, but I almost can’t wait for winter, as it will mean that the big projects are all wrapped up, the garden put to bed and time to truly relax and enjoy the company of friends.
